LINSDBORG, KAN.—The Bethany College/Lindsborg Community Orchestra will present their winter concert on Saturday, December 11 at 7:30 p.m. in Presser Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
Conducted by Richard Koshgarian and featuring student conductor Scott James, the orchestra will open the concert with a performance of an overture to “Orpheus in the Underworld” by Jacques Offenbach. The concert will continue with Arcangelo Corelli’s famous “Christmas Concerto” and Franz Joseph Haydn’s “The Miracle.” The Bethany College Chamber Strings will also perform “Soirées Musicales” by Benjamin Britten.
A full symphonic orchestra, the Bethany College/Lindsborg Community Orchestra is comprised of students and community members. This group performs four, full concerts each year. Many of the orchestra members also perform during the annual Messiah Festival of the Arts.
