Truck Driver Hurt After Semi Hits Cattle On I-70 In Russell County

A 50 year old Missouri truck driver was injured early Tuesday morning after the semi he was driving hit cattle on I-70 in Russell County.

According to a Kansas Highway Patrol report, John Kenneth Authors II of Independence Missouri,was westbound about 12:40 am when the semi hit 5 cattle on the road at the Dorrance exit.

Authors was able to pull the semi that was pulling two trailers over onto the shoulder of the highway.

He was taken to the Russell Regional Hospital for treatment of injuries. He was wearing a seatbelt.
