LEAVENWORTH, Kan. (AP) – A 20-year-old Leavenworth man has been convicted of raping a 76-year-old woman after hitting her with a frying pan.

A Leavenworth County jury on Thursday found Andre Connally guilty of rape and aggravated sodomy.

The Kansas City Star reports he was found not guilty of aggravated burglary. Prosecutors say Connally entered the woman’s apartment around 2 a.m. last Nov. 19, struck her with a pan and sexually assaulted her.

Investigators linked Connally to the attack through a fingerprint at the crime scene, and a shoe print matched basic characteristics of shoes he was wearing when he was arrested.
