STRANGE BUT TRUE: Salina Police call man on stolen phone, make arrest

A 25 year old Newton man arrested Thursday night in connection to a theft of a cell phone and laptop computer during a meth buy in Salina.

Deputy Police Chief Carson Mansfield says Joshua O’Neill was arrested about 9pm in the parking lot of Walmart, after police called him on the stolen cell phone to make arrangements to get the phone and computer back.

O’Neill and another suspect took the items early Wednesday morning from an 18 year old Salina woman after she had arranged a meth buy, and they were not happy with the amount of product they received.

Another man from Newton, 27 year old Cody R. Harrison who rode with O’Neill to Salina was arrested on drug charges unrelated to the theft case.

Mansfield says police expect another arrest in the theft case.
