A Saline County Jail Corrections officer was treated for injuries at Salina Regional Health Center she received when jumped by an inmate who she was serving breakfast to just after 7am Friday morning.

39-year-old Jason Rodriquez who has been in jail since his arrest September 1st on numerous drug charges, knocked deputy Collen Hansen down and beat her about the head and face, when she opened the door to his cell in the booking area of the jail.

He was being held in the cell for medical issues.

4 other corrections officers had to used a pepper ball gun and taser to restrain Rodriquez. He now faces an additional charge of battery of a corrections officer. Hansen was was treated for bruises on the face.
