The I-135/I-70 Drug Task Force arrested two people Monday for the sale and distribution of marijuana following about a month-long investigation.
Drug Task Force Commander Lt. Jim Norton says Susan Edmonds of Salina was arrested about 5:30pm after selling marijuana to an DTF confidential informant. She was stopped in her car in the area of 9th and Hamilton.
She had sold marijuana on 3 prior occasions to a CI before being arrested Monday.
The DTF investigation led to a home east of Salina near the intersection of Old Highway 40 and Stimmel Road, the home of Marshall Matthews, whom Edmonds had been getting marijuana from.
Seized was a 1 pound brick of marijuana, 37 grams of loose marijuana, and digital scales, and $514 in cash believed to be drug proceeds, including money marked by the DTF used to make buys from Edmonds.
Edmonds was charged with sale of marijuana, including three counts of sale within 1000 feet of a school.
Matthews has not been arrested because of a medical issue during the search of his home.
He was admitted to Salina Regional Health Center. Once released from the hospital, he is expected to be charged with conspiracy to distribute marijuana and possession of drug proceeds.
