He was probably most well known as the “Sheriff of Mayberry”, Andy Taylor in the “Andy Griffith Show”.  Some will more fondly remember him as the  slightly eccentric lawyer in “Matlock”.  Andy Griffith passed away this morning around 7am at his home in North Carolina.  He was 86 years old.

His career spanned more than a half century and included stints on Broadway as well as the big screen and recorded many records with his singing voice and comedy talent.
