A 29-year-old Salina man was jailed Monday evening on a charge of arson. Salina Fire crews were sent to the 400-block of S. Baker about 6:15pm to report of fire behind a house.

Jason Howey is alleged to have squirted lighter fluid on grass in the backyard of 426-428 S. Baker and lit the fluid. The fire damaged a small piece of plywood that was covering a basement window.

Damaged estimated at $100.
