A fire that caused about $5000 damage to a Salina apartment, early Wednesday morning, is being ruled an arson.

27-year-old Kun Gach opened the door to his apartment in the 100-block of S. Ohio just before 2:00am and smoke rolled out of the apartment.

The fire was confined to a bedroom, and damaged clothing, bedding and electronics.

Salina Police Lt. Scott Siemsen said it appears that something incendiary was thrown through the bedroom window, causing the blaze.

No one injured in the fire.
