A Salina South middle school student in the Saline County Juvenile Detention Center after stabbing another student Tuesday morning in a Tech Ed classroom.

The 13-year old suspect stabbed another boy in the shoulder with an awl between 7:35am and 8:26am.

The victim of the puncture wound was treated by the school nurse. Lt. Scott Siemsen said the incident was unprovoked.

Charges of aggravated battery are being requested against the suspect.
