A Salina man was arrested without incident late Saturday night at a motel in connection with an armed robbery Friday evening of a liquor store.
The Salina Police SWAT team made the arrest of 21-year-old Calvin Frenzley after 11pm Saturday night at the Days Inn at 632 Westport Blvd.
Captain Mike Sweeney said the SWAT team was called in because Frenzley was believed to have been armed. No gun was found in the motel room.
Frenzley was identified in security video from Dalia’s Liquor at 915 W. Crawford.
Frenzley walked into the liquor store just before 7pm Friday, displayed a handgun, and demanded money. He left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Police received information that Frenzley was at the motel, and after his arrest found marijuana packaged for sale, a small amount of methamphetamine residue, and drug paraphernalia.
In addition to requested charges in connection with the liquor store robbery, and drugs found in the motel room, Frenzley is also being charged with a robbery October 21st of a 34-year-old man at his apartment in the 700 block of Guernsey.
