The Ell-Saline Lady Cardinals fell just short of a state softball championship on Friday as they were defeated by Chase County, 10-0, in the Class 2-1A state championship game.

Chase County started off the scoring with a run in the bottom of the 3rd and they would never look back. The Lady Bulldogs finish the season 24-0 and have now won 4 straight state titles and 92 consecutive games.

Ell-Saline reached the championship game with a first round win over Dexter-Cedar Vale, 2-1, and a semi-final victory over Moundridge, 9-3.

The Lady Cardinals finish the 2015 season with an overall record of 19-5.
