Francis V. Weis, 95, formally of Salina, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Capitol Region Medical Center, Jefferson City, Missouri. He was born June 10, 1919, in Glendale, Saline County, Kansas, the son of Frank and Emma (Walle) Weis. On November 7, 1941, he married Emma L. Weis in McPherson. Emma preceded him in death on July 5, 2011. In addition to his wife, Emma, he also was preceded in death by his brother, Robert and sister, Ellen.
Francis was a WWII Veteran serving in the United States Army from 1940-1945. He later worked at Long McArthur Ford as an auto mechanic until his retirement. Francis was a member of Belmont Boulevard Christian Church and was very active with the Shrine in Salina.
Survivors include his two sons, Ronald J. Weis and wife Glenna, of Springfield, MO., and Roger A. Weis and wife Sandra, of Jefferson City, MO.; four grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Friday, June 5, 2015, at Ryan Mortuary, 137 N. Eighth, Salina. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 6, 2015, at Belmont Boulevard Christian Church, Salina. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park, Salina. Memorial contribution may be made to Belmont Boulevard Christian Church, and left in care of Ryan Mortuary.
