The schematic design has been approved for Sunset Elementary School. The USD 305 Board of Education approved the plans at the June 3 board meeting.

Sunset will receive new kindergarten classrooms, a multi-purpose storm shelter, a controlled entryway and renovations to special program spaces. Sunset, like all other building projects, has secondary needs identified which will be addressed only if the budget permits. Site investigation is underway and the project is expected to be bid in September. Tentatively, construction will begin in November and will be completed during the 2016-17 school year. All-day kindergarten will be available in all USD 305 elementary schools at the start of the 2016-17 school year.
