Smolan Road from Burma Road to Interstate Highway 135 will be closed to through traffic on Monday, June 8^th, morning to permit construction of an asphalt pavement overlay. The work is projected to be completed by the end of Friday, June 12^th.  Of course, completion is dependent on unforeseen conditions such as adverse weather.

Local and emergency traffic will be provided access to private property within the sections of closed road at all times.  The only times these properties may not be accessible might be during possible critical stages of construction when it is impractical to carry on construction operations and simultaneously allow local traffic.

This work is being done by APAC-Kansas, Inc. Shears Division under a contract awarded by the Saline Board of County Commissioners for $1,314,990.00 for asphalt work distributed throughout the county.
