Walter E. Wilson, 85 , of Salina, KS died July 12, 2015. He was born June 10, 1930 in Huron, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents, John W. and Josephine E. (Gieber) Wilson and five brothers. He is survived by his wife, Mary (Ernst) Wilson, of the home; daughter, Karen (Mark) Laas, of rural Brookville; and son, Steve, of Salina.
Walt served 4 years in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-1955 including three years in Manston, England. He retired from the Federal Aviation Administration on April 3, 1986 after 30 years of government service. He was a lifetime member of NARFE and member of the American Legion, of Everest, KS. His hobbies were woodworking and gardening.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Salina, where he was a member for over 50 years. The Rev. Kyle Berens officiating. Inurnment will be at the Old Huron Cemetery, Huron, KS, with military rites by the Everest, KS American Legion Post.
