2 hospitalized after motorhome hits a deer

KHPBELOIT –Two people were injured in an accident just after 6 p.m. on Friday in Mitchell County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2009 Tioga Motorhome driven by Pamela D. Shires, 43, Pottsboro, TX., was westbound on US 24 two miles west of Beloit.

The motorhome hit a deer that entered the roadway from the south ditch.

Shires and a passenger Robert H. Shires, 70, Pottsboro, TX, were transported to the Mitchell County Hospital.

Patricia Shires, 66, had minor injuries but refused treatment at the scene according to the KHP.

All were properly restrained at the time of the accident.
