The Salina Bicentennial Center has announced that a press conference will take place on Wednesday, July 22, in which a “major announcement regarding professional indoor football in Salina for the 2016 season” will be made.

The press conference, which will take place at 2:00 p.m. at the Bicentennial Center, is expected to be the official announcement of Salina’s new indoor football team, that will replace the defunct Salina Bombers in the CIF (Champions Indoor Football) league.

The Bombers folded on May 28th when CIF league officials suspended the team, after the team’s owner failed to meet league mandated obligations. The suspension forced the cancellation of the Bombers’ two remaining regular season games.
