KENSINGTON – Two people were injured in an accident just after 3p.m. on Saturday in Smith County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2005 Pontiac Bonneville driven by Timothy A. Ito, 50 Minden, Nebraska, was southbound on the K-8 Highway, seven miles east of Kensington.
For an unknown reason, the passenger grabbed the steering wheel and jerked it to the right, causing the driver to lose control.
The Pontiac entered the west ditch, hit an embankment and rolled end over end 3 times.
Ito and the passenger Tracey D. Ito, 55, also of Minden, Nebraska, were transported to the Smith County Hospital.
She was not wearing a seat belt, according to the KHP.
