Dickinson County Food Establishment Inspections, October 2-8, 2015

inspectionsFood Establishment Inspections conducted in Dickinson County by the Kansas Department of Agriculture’s Division of Food Safety and Lodging from October 2 through October 8, 2015.

Food safety and lodging inspections are unannounced, and inspection results represent only those conditions found in the establishment at the time of the inspection.

Herington High School, 1401 N. D Street – Herington (October 6)
– Two portion cups of hard boiled eggs on salad bar not dated. Salad bar prep person did not know when they were cooked. Corrected on site: egg cups discarded.
– In walk-in cooler, opened container of garlic in oil is dated March 2. Corrected on site: garlic in oil discarded.
– In walk-in cooler, opened package of sliced ham not dated. Person in charge said it was opened last week on Thursday. Corrected on site: person in charge chose to discard.
– Spots of white mold on wire racks in walk-in cooler.
– No hand soap available at hand sink by elementary serving line. Corrected on site: soap provided.
– No paper towels or other drying provision available at hand sink by elementary serving line. Corrected on site: paper towels provided.

Hope Elementary School, 200 N. Poplar – Hope (October 6)
– No violations.

The Endzone, 404 N. Main – Hope (October 6) Follow Up Inspection
– Overhead door in back storage room has gap along bottom where pests can enter. Repeat violation.
