SES Volleyball Wins Big at Solomon Triangular

SES Volleyball 2015-16The Southeast of Saline Lady Trojans came away with a big win at the Solomon Triangular on Thursday evening.

SES first defeated Solomon, 25-13 and 25-2. Junior outside hitter Taylor Wells served 22 times in a row against the Lady Gorillas in the second set.

The Lady Trojans, ranked #4 in Class 3A, then defeated the 6th ranked Hesston Lady Swathers, 25-16 and 26-24. Down 24-18 at one point, Taylor Wells once again came up big, serving 8 in a row to help of the rest of her team with the come from behind win, 26-24.

SES had a full team effort, with the following all contributing to the victory:

Erica Montgomery: 19 kills, 2 ace serves, 9 digs, 1 solo block, 1 assist block
Kylee Poague: 19 digs, 1 ace serve.
Taylor Wells: 7 kills, 6 ace serves, 4 digs.
Arianne Helvey: 2 kills, 40 assists, 1 ace serve, 6 digs, 1 solo, 1 assist.
Morgan Thaxton: 7 kills, 2 digs.
Kylee Thaxton: 7 kills, 2 solo blocks, 2 assist blocks
The Lady Trojans are now 28-3 on the season and 7-1 in NCAA league play. SES will next travel to Hesston for the Hesston Invitational, which begins at 9 a.m. Saturday morning.
