A traffic stop on Interstate 70 early Saturday morning ends with an Arkansas man in the Saline County Jail on requested charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Sheriff Glen Kochanowski said 26-year-old Ponch Saeyiem of Jonesboro, Arkansas, was driving eastbound at about 3:20 a.m. east of Salina, when he was pulled over by a deputy for a traffic infraction.

During the stop, a K-9 hit on the 2016 Ford Fusion, and a search of the car found nearly a quarter pound of marijuana in five different packages.

Saeyiem was going back to Arkansas after a trip to Colorado.

In addition to the drug charge, Saeyiem was charged with driving while suspended.
