SALINE COUNTY – Law enforcement authorities in Saline County are investigating a scam involving utility payments.

The City of Salina Water Department has received several reports of a man calling businesses in the Salina area to say the business is behind on their water payment. The suspect asks for a credit card number for payment, according to a social media report from Salina Police.

The City of Salina Water Department will not ask for a credit card number over the phone for delinquent bills.
