LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas Men’s Basketball Head Coach Bill Self made announcements on Friday regarding two of his players.
Freshman forward Cheick Diallo has been cleared to travel with the KU men’s basketball team to the Maui Jim Maui Invitational, November 23-25. Self said a waiver was granted to allow Diallo the opportunity to travel with the team, but there has been no indication that he will be eligible to play in the event. The NCAA Eligibly Center is continuing to examine Diallo’s case on whether he can compete or not. Diallo has been practicing with the Jayhawks.
Self also announced that junior guard Brannen Greene has been suspended for six games for conduct detrimental to the team. With this, Greene will not travel with the team to the Maui Jim Maui Invitational. Greene will be able practice with the team when the Jayhawks return from Hawaii.
