Dickinson Co. Food Establishment & Lodging Inspections, January 29 – February 4, 2016

inspectionsFood Establishment and Lodging Inspections conducted in Dickinson County by the Kansas Department of Agriculture’s Division of Food Safety and Lodging from January 29 through February 4, 2016.

Food safety and lodging inspections are unannounced, and inspection results represent only those conditions found in the establishment at the time of the inspection.

Hilltop Community Center, 2 S. A St. – Herington (February 3) Follow Up Inspection
– No Violations.

Me & Dee’s Cafe, 106 N. Broadway Ave. – Woodbine (February 3) Complaint Inspection
– In reach in cooler #3, ham previously frozen not dated with pull from freezer date. Per owner, ham pulled from freezer on February 1. Corrected on site: ham dated.
– No detectable sanitizer in wiping cloth bucket in wait staff area.
– In reach-in cooler: at 9:30 a.m., temperature of a containers of ham and beans at 46.5 degrees F in the middle and 42.3 degrees F on the side. Containers were placed in cooler day before inspection at 2 p.m. to cool. Items did not cool within 6 hours. Corrected on site: ham and beans discarded.
– Raw shell eggs with temperature of 69.2 degrees F setting on counter at room temperature. Corrected on site: eggs moved to reach-in cooler.
– Hot water faucet handle leaks in women’s bathroom.
– Water faucet handle leaks in men’s bathroom.
– No covered receptacle in women’s bathroom.
– Gap at bottom corner of south entry door.
– No handsoap available at men’s bathroom hand sink. Corrected on site: soap was provided.
– Approximately 25 old mouse droppings in storage room and utility room. Cat food pieces on floor of utility room.

Panda Kitchen, 201 W. Trapp St. – Herington (February 3) Follow Up Inspection
– In walk-in cooler, crab ragoon cream cheese and crab mix not dated. Owner said cheese mix was made on January 30 and crab mix was made on February 1. Corrected on site: mixes dated.

Patterson Healthcare, 105 NW 3rd St. – Abilene (February 3) Regular Inspection
– No sanitizer test strips for chlorine sanitizer. Corrected on site: test strips left by inspector.
– No 3 compartment sink on site. Utensils returned to Clay Center facility for cleaning.
