Each year, the National Weather Service in Wichita conducts weather and safety presentations across Kansas. Saline County Emergency Management will be hosting the 2016 Storm Fury on the Plains on Monday, March 7th, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. at the Salina South High School Auditorium. The presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m. and typically lasts 1 ½ to 2 hours.
Attendees are taught the basics of thunderstorm development, storm structure, and what features to look for as well as basic severe weather safety tips. This presentation is an interactive multi-media presentation that is open to all members of the public.
No prior experience is required, and there is no registration necessary to attend!
A free “Advanced Storm Spotter” class will also be offered this year. That is scheduled for Wednesday, April 6th, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. at Salina South High School auditorium.
