Salina Police continue to search for the rider of a motorcycle involved in a high speed pursuit Saturday night.
A police officer attempted to stop the rider near the intersection of Ash Street and Broadway Boulevard just before 8 p.m. for reckless riding. The motorcycle fled at a high rate of speed and eluded the officer.
When another officer spotted the motorcycle near the intersection of Broadway and Crawford Street, the motorcycle rider again fled at a high rate of speed east of Crawford, then north on 9th Street. The rider then turned off the motorcycle’s headlight. Another officer located the motorcycle at 9th and Walnut Streets, but lost sight of it.
The motorcycle was later found abandoned, lying in the backyard of a home in the 300 block of S. 11th.
Police are still looking for the rider.
