WELLINGTON, Kan. (AP) — A 74-year-old south-central Kansas man has died about a week after he was caught in a structure fire.

Wellington Fire Chief Tim Hay says Wayne Bradford died Wednesday. He says Bradford had been hospitalized in Wichita since last Thursday when the fire broke out in a detached garage.

KSN reports that the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Wellington is a town of about 8,000 residents located about 35 miles south of Wichita.
