Food Establishment and Lodging Inspections conducted in Saline County by the Kansas Department of Agriculture’s Division of Food Safety and Lodging from June 2 through June 8, 2016.
Food safety and lodging inspections are unannounced, and inspection results represent only those conditions found in the establishment at the time of the inspection.
Bicentennial Center Kitchen, 800 The Midway (June 6) Regular Inspection
– Cases of single service cups setting on floor in kitchen and concession stands.
– Personal sunglasses and coat setting on top of prep table.
– Taco meat inside kitchen east walk-in cooler not dated when prepared on June 3. Corrected on site: dated June 3 through June 9. No follow up due to known date of preparation.
– Leaf lettuce inside south concession area walk-in cooler dated as prepared on May 27. Corrected on site: disposed.
– Back side of slicer blade area has accumulation on dried on food debris. Corrected on site: cleaned in place.
– Metal dome lids stacked on top of stove shelf has accumulation of grease and can opener blade has accumulation of dried on food debris. Corrected on site: moved to warewashing area to be cleaned.
– Side of kitchen stove has accumulation of splattered food, side of kitchen mixer has glob of peanut butter, hot holding cart interior bottom has dried on food debris.
– Kitchen back door has approximately 1.5 inch hole in door jamb on interior left side.
– Spray can of board cleaner stored on top of prep table in kitchen and spray bottle of window cleaner stored on top of cheese sauce in south concession stand. Corrected on site: moved both to chemical storage areas.
– Microwave in south and north concessions stands not cleaned daily.
Holiday Inn Express & Suites, 735 W. Diamond Dr. (June 8) Regular Inspection
– No written procedure available for using ‘Time as Public Health Control’ for individual packages of cream cheese and butter. Corrected on site: developed a written procedure.
-Can opener blade has accumulation of dried on food debris and cookie sheets inside cookie oven have old used baking liners. Neither used today. Corrected on site: moved to warewashing.
– Personal open beverage on top of cookie oven and prep counter top. Corrected on site: covered personal beverages.
– Case of cheese sauce setting on floor in kitchen.
– Employee arranged ready to eat sausage patties with bare hands. Corrected on site: reheated patties to 165 degrees F.
– Spoon and whisk used for gravy setting on top of wet cloth on prep table. Corrected on site: educated and cleaned.
– No thermometer inside white Whirlpool reach-in cooler.
Jalisco Mexican Restaurant, 2601 Market Place (June 8) Regular Inspection
– Pitchers used as scoops stored inside storage containers of dry rice and beans have handles touching food.
– Foil pans stored outside original packaging inside of outside portable storage building.
– No detectable sanitizer in wiping cloth storage container, wet wiping cloth setting on top of paper towel dispenser on line.
– Case of cups and napkins setting on floor of outside portable storage building.
– Spray hose at food prep sink is taped together.
– Spray hose at 3 vat sink is hanging below the flood rim. Corrected on site: raised hose above flood rim.
– Wait staff area handwashing sink hot water temperature only 71 degrees F.
– Plastic lids to dry rice and chip storage containers are cracked.
– Notice of non-compliance issued. Follow up inspection scheduled for June 18.
Los Panchos Mexican Food, 2300 Planet Ave. (June 3) Complaint Inspection
– At hot sauce bar, temperature of green and red sauce at 52 degrees F. Corrected on site: added more ice.
– In walk-in cooler, milk opened two days ago per manager did not have date marked. Corrected on site: dated June 1. 1 out of 35 not date marked.
– Employee used his bare hands to take tortillas off grill and put them on make table. Corrected on site: employee educated, tortillas discarded.
Super 8 Motel, 120 E. Diamond Dr. (June 6) Modified Complaint Inspection
– Pool pH at 8.3 and hot tub pH greater than 8.4. Pool and hot tub serviced during inspection.
– Hot tub disinfectant at 1.51. Corrected on site: pool and hot tub serviced during inspection.
