Ruth Constance (Page) Scoggan, Minneapolis, was born August 24, 1923, near O’Neill, NE, the fourth of six children. She passed away Sunday, August 7, 2016 at the age of 92.
Mrs. Scoggan married Harold D. Scoggan on May 28, 1942. She taught elementary school for 25 years and she acquired a Master’s Degree.
Ruth was always interested in children. She taught vacation bible school, Sunday school, children’s church, and Good News Clubs for many years. Ruth enjoyed sewing and made between 300 and 400 quilts and quilt tops, donating many to charitable organizations.
Her husband, Harold; brother Daniel Page; and sisters Arleen Clyde and Carol Brooks preceded her in death.
Survivors include her five children, Philip and wife Renee of Beloit, Bruce of Lee’s Summit, MO, Janet Halford and husband Richard of Pontiac, IL; Roger of Basehor, and Richard and wife Gladys of Cochabamba, Bolivia; brother David Page; sister Alice Page; 19 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Saturday at the Free Methodist Church, Minneapolis. Visitation will be from 10 until service time Saturday at the church. Private burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Beloit. Memorials may be made to Women’s Missions International.

LaDonna Nagy, 93, of Salina, passed away Friday, July 22, 2016. She was born Aug. 13, 1922 in Genoa, Ohio to William and Ella (Epling) Zunk. Shortly after that she moved with her family to East Toledo. On June 14, 1947 she married Edward Nagy. They were married for 59 years.
Survivors include: their two daughters, Rebecca “Becky” (Harold) Klaege of Salina, and Barbara (Jeb) Berg of Salt Lake City, Utah; four grandchildren, David Klaege of Tucson, Ariz., Elaine (Matt) Cranford of Lincoln, Neb., Jeb (Katy) Berg of Seattle, and Bill Berg of Salt Lake City; and eight great-grandchildren, Natalie, Sydnee, and Chloe Klaege, and Quincy, Chance, Asher, Mariah, and Misha Cranford.
LaDonna is preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Edward; two sisters; and a brother.
Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Friday Aug. 12, at Redeemer Lutheran Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Redeemer Lutheran Church, 743 E Magnolia Rd., Salina, or a charity of the donor’s choice. Ryan Mortuary, Salina, is handling arrangements.

Harry Kejr, 92, of Brookville, Kan., died Aug. 8, 2016, after a short stay at Presbyterian Manor. He was born in Dorrance, Kan. Jan. 23, 1924, to Mary and Joseph Kejr.
Harry grew up and attended school in Dorrance. Harry met Rosella Balzer of Inman, Kansas when he was attending Midwest Bible College in Salina. They married Aug. 15, 1944. He was a lifelong farmer in western Saline County and was active with the Fellowship of Christian Farmers. He was involved into his late 80’s with numerous mission projects in the USA and beyond. He served on the Ell-Saline School board and Gideons International.
Survivors include: his son-in-law, Al Zink of Eagle River Alaska; children, Steve (Carol) Kejr of Fort Mills S.C., Bernice (John) Omli, Larry (Susan) Kejr, and Mel (Janet) Kejr, all of Salina, Joe (Geena) Keir of Brookville; his sister Georgina Bates of Akron, Colo.; grandchildren, Mary Ruth, Rebecca, Martha, Joseph, Kevin, Lisa, Tom, David, Charity, Maria, Ryan, Nathan, Brent, Scott, Hannah, Ethan, Robyn, Joshua, and Michelle; and numerous great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by: his parents; his wife, Rosella; his daughter, Rosalie; brother, Frank; and sisters Helen, Mary Lou and Marjorie.
Memorials may be made to: the Gideons, or Christian Service Fellowship for grandchildren’s ministry opportunities.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m., with family receiving friends from 5:30-7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12, at Ryan Mortuary of Salina.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at First Southern Baptist Church, 2401 S. Ohio, Salina. Burial will be at the Brookville Cemetery following the service. Friends may join the family for lunch at 11:30 a.m. prior to the funeral in the church fellowship hall.

Boyd “B.J.” Johnson, 45, passed away Monday, August 8th, in Abilene. He was born May 10, 1971 at Ft. Riley, the son of Boyd Junior and Evelyn Ann (Vinduska) Johnson. Growing up in Abilene and Lawton Oklahoma, B.J. attended local schools, graduated from Singer High School in Singer Louisiana, earned his CDL in Oklahoma and his CNA in Salina. He had been employed by Everett Trucking and Village Manor in Abilene. On November 11, 2000, B.J. married Terri Borden in Deming, New Mexico, later divorcing in 2010. He enjoyed elk and turkey hunting and had been one of the gunfighters in Old Abilene Town. B.J. was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by: mother, Evelyn Johnson of Abilene; sister J.J. Moore of West Memphis, Arkansas; brother, Philip Johnson of Quinter; nieces and nephews.
The family has chosen cremation. Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, August 13th, at the Danner Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 PM until service time. Private family inurnment will be held at a later date.

Linda S. Mills, age 67, left this earthly life on Tues., Aug. 9, 2016 at her home in Concordia, KS surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Feb. 19, 1949 in Denver, CO to Eugene L. & Phyllis V. (Fitch) Valcoure.

Council Grove – Frank Eugene Bacon, 86, of Council Grove, Kansas, passed away Monday, August 8, 2016, at Diversicare of Council Grove.
He was born July 16, 1930, in rural Morris County, KS, the son of Frank Amos and Luella (Baker) Bacon. He graduated from Dunlap High School and later joined the United States Army and was a Korean War Veteran.
Frank was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors.
Frank is survived by his son Ron (Betty) Bacon of Council Grove and daughters Betty (Alan) Richardson of Emporia, Lois (LeRoy) Robertson of Osage City and Ramona (Steve) Langley of Wichita. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. Surviving siblings are Boyd (Ruth) Bacon of Dunlap, Caroline Rogers of Lebo and Guy (Janece) Bacon of Olpe.
He was preceded in death by his son Rod Bacon, grandson Josh Bacon, his parents and siblings Ruth Johnson, Mary Bechtel and Lois West.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00am, Friday, August 12, 2016, at Four Mile Cemetery.

Donald Bobzien, age 71 of Wakefield passed away on August 7th, 2016 at his residence, after battling cancer.
Don was born May 10, 1945 the eldest son of Don and Genevieve (Jansen) Bobzien. His family settled in Hinton, Iowa where he graduated from high school.
Don Received an MA Degree from University of South Dakota and MS Degree from Kansas State University. He worked in the fields of special and general education and law enforcement before retiring.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Survivors include his father, Don Bobzien Sr, one brother, Rodney Bobzien, Wife Diane (Wolff) Bobzien, Daughter, Cheryl (Bobzien) Dibben. Numerous brothers and sisters in laws, nieces and nephews.
Graveside Services: Friday, August 12, 2016 at 10:30AM at the Highland Cemetery in Wakefield, KS.

Lyle Lee Casper, 85, of Russell, Kansas, died on Monday, August 08, 2016, at his home in Russell.
A celebration of Lyle’s life will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, August 12, 2016, at the Pohlman-Varner-Peeler Mortuary of Russell. Burial will follow at the Bunker Hill Cemetery in Bunker Hill, Kansas. HERINGTON – John Neal True, 97, formerly of Herington, died late Saturday evening, August 6th, 2016, at the Rolling Hills Health Facility in Topeka. He was born in Carnegie, OK, on October 19th, 1918, the son of James G. and Edna F. (Robohn) True.
Services are pending at Penwell-Gabel, Midtown, Topeka, Saturday, August 27th, 2016.
Mr. True was a telephone technician employed by the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company working forty years in Herington. He was a beekeeper from 1975 through 2006. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club and the First Baptist Church of Herington. He graduated from Osage City High School with the class of 1937.
He married Velma L. Chatham on August 27th, 1940, at Topeka, and she preceded him death on January 20th, 2014. He was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, seven brothers, and his parents.
He is survived by a son Philip True and his wife Lynn, of Johnstown, CO; five daughters: Barbara Weber and husband Mike of Bennington, VT, Jennifer True of Glendora, CA, Donna Hulbert and husband Frank of Denver, CO, Rebecca Otte and husband Ken of Topeka, Melba Moffitt and husband John of Tulsa, OK, 16 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and 13 great-great grandchildren.
