Salina – Kansas Wesleyan University has been recognized for its academic excellence by being named to several distinguished regional and national lists. In addition to maintaining many of the accolades earned for the 2015–16 academic year, the university has recently been named a Military Friendly School for 2017. KWU, ranked #45 on the U.S. News and World Reports Best Midwest Colleges and Universities list, earned College of Distinction honors for a third consecutive year; it has made a repeat appearance on the President’s Higher Education Honor Roll; and the university has maintained its position as a top institution for a counseling degree. President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll
The President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll recognizes institutions of higher education that support exemplary community service programs and raise the visibility of effective practices in campus community partnerships. It is the highest federal recognition an institution can receive for its commitment to community, service learning and civic engagement. Last month, KWU was named to the 2015 President’s Higher Education Honor Roll in the Interfaith Community Service Category for the second consecutive year. Top Ten Institutions in Kansas for Federal Work-Study Aid Awarded
Kansas Wesleyan is ranked ninth in the state of Kansas for Federal Work-Study aid awarded, according to the Student Loan Report, which uses Peterson’s Financial Aid data. The Federal Work-Study program funds part-time jobs for student workers in need of financial aid. These jobs provide students an alternative to student loans.
