Salina Man Injured in Motorcycle Crash

MotorcycleAccidentA Salina man was injured in a motorcycle crash early Tuesday morning.

Police Captain Mike Sweeney said Krystopher Roesch-Beem, 27, was riding his 2007 Kawasaki southbound in the 700 block of Roach Street just before 2 a.m., when he struck a Firestone farm tire, which was laying in the middle of the roadway.

Upon impact with the tire, Roesch-Beem was thrown from the motorcycle and onto the pavement.

He sustained a head injury, a broken pelvis and other broken bones, and was taken to Salina Regional Health Center for treatment and later transferred to Via Christi Hospital St. Francis in Wichita.

Investigators are trying to determine if speed may have been a factor in the crash, according to Sweeney.
