Injury accident involving local teens

Sunday evening at 4:13, deputies were called to the scene of a single-vehicle accident on Coronado Heights Rd.

Sheriff Roger Soldan told The Salina Post that five teens were traveling westbound in a 1993 Ford Ranger when it lost control, went through a fence, hit a divet in the field, rolled and ended up resting on the passenger side.

According to Soldan, the driver, Makenzie Hanchett, 15, of Salina and two other teen passengers sustained injuries and were transported by EMS to receive medical treatment. One 15-year-old was transported by helicopter to Wesley Medical Center.

Hanchett fractured her collarbone, the injuries of the passengers is not known. No one in the vehicle was wearing a seatbelt.
