On Sunday afternoon at 11:14, Rural Fire District #2 responded to a house fire at 141 N. Main Street in Falun.

Sheriff Roger Soldan told The Salina Post that a resident returned home and discovered smoke coming from the house. The crew was able to contain the fire to the kitchen area.

According to Sheriff  Soldan, a lit candle left in the kitchen was the cause of the fire.  There was major smoke damage totaling $60,000.

No injuries were reported.
