Captain Mike Sweeney told The Salina Post that on Wednesday evening at 10:30, an argument erupted between a male and female acquaintance at the 500 block of Inez. The male suspect allegedly choked the female and then left the scene before the officers arrived.

According to Sweeney, James Thomas, 30, of Salina, was arrested and facing possible charges of aggravated domestic battery.

The female victim did have redness and marks on her throat but did not seek medical attention.
