Delia “Dee” E. Hamm

Delia “Dee” E. Hamm, 94, Abilene, died Friday, August 10, 2018 at Memorial Hospital, Abilene. She was born September 19, 1923 in Ottawa County to Benjamin and Cora (Dupes) Wilson.
 
Delia was a graduate of Tescott High School and she retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company with 32 years of service in August of 1983. She was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Telephone Pioneers. Delia was baptized and confirmed at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Tescott. She delivered Meals on Wheel for over 20 years in Salina. Delia enjoyed hand quilting for her family.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Cora, Gladys, and Laura; two brothers, Sidney and Averill.
 
Survivors are her three sisters, Marie Poole of Ashburn, VA, Alma Christenson of Tescott, and Shirley Carrier of Abilene; many nieces; nephews; great-nieces; great-nephews; and many friends.
 
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Monday, August 13 at Wilson Family Funeral Home, Minneapolis. Cremation will follow the visitation. Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, August 16 at Franklin Cemetery, Tescott. Memorials may be made to V.F.W. Auxiliary Post 3279 (Abilene) or the AT&T Telephone Pioneers.
