UPDATED 4:30 p.m.: Saline County Clerk Jamie Allen released the following statement concerning vote totals in last Tuesday’s primary election:
“The Board of County Commissioners completed the canvassing of votes today. After canvassing was complete it was discovered that 140 votes from Precinct 35 were counted twice on election night. While initially importing results from Precinct 35 thumb drive an error occurred. To correct this error our vendor instructed to have results imported separately then merged with the Election Day totals. The error occurred on Friday again when processing 21 advance ballots. When the merge was completed the separate totals still appeared in the grand total column. Therefore, the results were over reported on reports election night as well as Friday after processing advance ballots. The official results from canvassing this morning reflect the correct totals from all Precincts.”
