SALINE COUNTY — Monday’s August storm provided substantial rainfall for Salina and many areas of central Kansas.

While residents in western portions of Saline County reported approximately .75 inches of moisture, many areas in the city of Salina, McPherson and Dickinson County reported over 2 inches of much needed rainfall.
Portions of Ottawa and Ellsworth Counties received over 1.5 inches of moisture.
There is a 70 percent chance for showers Tuesday and a 40 percent chance for more rain Tuesday night, according to the National Weather Service.

Nearly two inches of rain fell in parts of Salina Monday afternoon, causing some street flooding and popping some manhole covers off on some streets. The heaviest rain fell north of Iron street, with lesser amounts further south. The National Weather Service is forecasting more rain to fall in central Kansas through early Wednesday.
