The Salina Police Department’s Excellence Fund is the focus of a fundraiser scheduled for later this month.

The event is scheduled for 3-7 p.m. September 23 at C&W Ranch, 4000 S. Halstead Road in Smolan. The cost is $25 per person. Persons interested need to RSVP to Chief Brad Nelson ([email protected]) by September 14.

According to information from the Salina Police Department, the event will include a social hour with cash bar, a BBQ dinner catered by Hog Wild, both live and silent auctions, and entertainment by The Blades.

Auction items include a 52-card-draw game of chance for a two-night trip to Las Vegas including round-trip airfare and a hotel on the strip, a Winchester 12-gauge shotgun, and a pair of tickets to three Stiefel Theatre shows and dinner for two at Martinelli’s.

The Salina Police Excellence Fund provides resources not otherwise available from traditional sources and is committed to assisting law enforcement officers and their families when tragedy occurs, such as line of duty deaths or serious injuries.
