Street Fair to include scavenger hunt

Learn about the history of Salina during the Street Fair Scavenger Hunt September 22.

Sponsored by Salina Downtown, Inc., the event is scheduled for 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m. and is a part of the Smoky Hill Museum’s annual Street Fair. Prizes are $100 in Smoky Hill Silver for first place and $50 in Smoky Hill Silver for second place.

Participants are asked to pick up a scavenger hunt map at the Street Fair information booth and then visit 14 downtown area businesses to get answers. Once they have the answers all filled in, they can turn in the maps for a chance to win the Smoky Hill Silver certificates.

Billed as a “one-day festival of fun,” the Smoky Hill Museum’s Street Fair celebrates the history and heritage of the Smoky Hills region with a downtown parade, demonstrators, entertainment, food and special activities for kids of all ages. Admission to the Street Fair is free. This year’s parade theme is Notorious & Notable Characters of Kansas to go along with the exhibit Notorious in the Smoky Hill Museum.
