The Gallery to feature Thomas collages

Blow – Blew – Blown, an exhibit by Larry Thomas of Lawrence, will be featured in The Gallery at Kansas Wesleyan University (KWU) beginning September 26.

The exhibit features an installation of small collages on wooden panels using traditional mediums such as paint, printmaking, and collage with the contemporary medium of digitally generated images.

A reception for the exhibit is schedule for 5 to 7 p.m. on October 5.

Thomas received his Master of Arts and Master of Fine Arts degrees in Printmaking and Drawing from the University of Iowa and a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts in Drawing and Printmaking from Missouri State University.

His work has been shown in regional, national and international exhibits. After teaching for 40 years in several universities, he recently retired as Professor and Chair of the Fine Art and Photography Department at Johnson County Community College.

Gallery hours are from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and weekends by appointment. The Gallery is located in Sams Hall of Fine Arts on the KWU campus, 100 E. Claflin Avenue, and is open to the public at no charge.
