CONCORDIA — With the 35th annual Fall Fest celebration slated for Saturday in Concordia, Cloud County Community College is inviting fans to enjoy some Fall Fest Fútbol that evening as the Cloud County soccer teams host KJCCC West rivals, Barton Community College.
Kickoff times have been set for 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday and the games will be played under the lights at Harold M. Clark Stadium on the Concordia High School campus.
Admission will be free to Cloud County student, faculty, and staff and their families, Thunderbird Booster Club members, Concordia USD 333 students, and all children under 18 years old. Ticket prices will be $2 for all other parties.
Concessions will be available and free hot dogs will be given out to those in attendance while supplies last.
The matchup against Barton will mark the second set of games the Cloud County soccer teams have played at Harold M. Clark Stadium. Both programs earned wins inside the newly renovated complex on September 8 against Dodge City Community College.
Fans will be treated to high-quality soccer that evening as the undefeated and No. 14 ranked T-Birds (6-0, 4-0 KJCCC) will be looking to continue their quest toward a second consecutive KJCCC West title. They take on a Barton team that Cloud County beat by the final score of 2-1 in each of the two meetings between the teams last season.
As for the men’s matchup, Saturday’s showdown pins two longstanding rivals and perennial powers against each other in the midst of a crowded KJCCC West race.
Cloud County, the three-time defending KJCCC West champions, currently sit atop the conference standings at 5-3 overall and 4-0 in the conference, while Barton is close behind at 5-1-1 overall and 1-0-1 in the conference.
