K-State to host diversity and inclusion game on Friday

MANHATTAN – K-State Athletics will host a Diversity and Inclusion game when the women’s soccer program hosts nationally-ranked Oklahoma State on Friday night at 7 p.m., at the K-State Soccer Complex in the Big 12 opener for both teams.

The event, which is part of the department’s Diversity and Inclusion Excellence Plan, is presented by K-State Athletics, the women’s soccer program and the Athletics Empowered Family Committee.

The Diversity and Inclusion Excellence Plan was implemented to create and encourage an environment that embraces diversity while actively promoting the inclusion of all groups throughout the university and Manhattan communities. The game will serve as a way to promote awareness of various diversity and inclusion issues while celebrating the eclectic populations that make the K-State Family unique and special.

The first 200 fans will receive a Diversity and Inclusion wristband and information card. The women’s soccer team will wear special warm-up t-shirts for the match.

Tickets for Friday’s match are available for $1 and can be purchased by contacting the K-State Athletics Ticket Office at (800) 221-CATS or by visiting kstatesports.com/tickets.
