Stolen motorcycle found damaged on other side of town

A motorcycle stolen from a central Salina residence was later found damaged at a west Salina motel.

Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said Monday that sometime between 10:30 p.m. Thursday and 2 p.m. Friday, someone stole a 2011 green Kawasaki Ninja 250R from the 1000 block of Johnstown. The owner had the only set of keys to the motorcycle with her, he said.

The motorcycle was later found on the north side of the Econo Lodge at 636 Westport, Forrester said. Damage to the motorcycle included a broken windshield, a dented gas tank, a broken right mirror, bent handlebars and clutch lever, body damage, and ignition damage, he said.

The motorcycle was valued at $1,400.
