This week’s Comfort Heating and Air Salute to Service honoree is David Tatum of Salina.
David served in the Kansas Army National Guard from November 1998 to November 2010. He was a Multiple Launch Rocket System Crewman. He served in Baghdad, Iraq, from February 2004 to May 2005. He also served in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt from July 2009 to August 2010.
Just before he deployed to Egypt, he found out that his wife was pregnant.
“He arranged his leave around the time I was due, but our son decided to come earlier than thought. David tried to make it home sooner but ended up getting stuck in a Cairo airport and he missed the birth of our first child and only son,” David’s wife, Mona, explained.
“He does a bunch for our family and always seems to keep calm during most of the hard times we have. He’s a great husband and father. The kids all adore him,” Mona added.
David was a Sergeant E5 at the time of his discharge.
Congratulations, David, on being selected as this week’s Comfort Heating and Air Salute to Service honoree! Thank you for your service!
