MANHATTAN – Kansas State ends its season-opening three-game home stand on Sunday, as the Wildcats host UMKC at 1 p.m., in Bramlage Coliseum.
• Sunday’s game can be seen live on ESPN3, as John Kurtz (play-by-play) and Missy Heidrick (color analyst) will have the call.
• K-State won its second straight game with a bookend performance, as the Wildcats turned in strong first and fourth quarters to defeat North Texas, 60-42.
• The Wildcats outscored the Mean Green in the first and fourth quarters, 36-15. For the second straight game, K-State allowed just five points in the fourth quarter.
• For the season, Kansas State has allowed opponents a 3-of-23 (.130) shooting from the field in the fourth quarter.
• Kansas State had three players reach double figures in scoring: senior guard Kayla Goth, senior forward Kali Jones and sophomore guard Rachel Ranke.
• Goth carded 21 points on 9-of-14 shooting, seven assists, four rebounds and three steals against the Mean Green. With her seven assists, Goth moved into 12th on the K-State career assists list with 325 and passing Betsy Sloan (1979-83).
• Jones tallied career-highs in points, field goals made and attempted, rebounds and assists. She notched her first career double-double with 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting, 11 rebounds, two assists and two steals. For the season, Jones is avergaing 7.5 rebounds per game and is tied for 12th in the Big 12 in rebounding.
• Ranke finished with a full stat line as she recorded 13 points, eight rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal. This was the 23rd career game in double figures for Ranke and her 11th career game with five or more rebounds.

• #KStateWBB has attacked the paint in the first two games of the season, as the Wildcats have tallied 64 total points in the lane or 32.0 points per game in the paint. The 64 points are 52.9 percent of K-State’s overall point total this season.
• Against Omaha, the Wildcats tallied 34 points in the lane and 30 against North Texas.

• UMKC (0-2) faces its second Big 12 opponent of the season, as the Kangaroos opened the 2018-19 season at Kansas followed by a game at Denver.
• UMKC is guided by former K-State assistant coach Jacie Hoyt. Hoyt is in her second season leading the Kangaroos and owns an 11-21 (.344) mark including a 7-7 record in WAC play.

Wildcats With 300+ Wins in Bramlage
• K-State is 325-129 (.716) all-time inside Bramlage Coliseum, which is in its 31st season of existence.
• In his career in games played in his home venue, Mittie is 329-86 (.793).
• Kansas State has protected Bramlage Coliseum with determination against non-conference foes with a record of 189-26 (.879). Head coach Jeff Mittie is 35-5 (.875) in non-conference games in Bramlage Coliseum.
• K-State was 11-8 at home in 2017-18. This was the 29th time the Wildcats reached double figures in home victories in program history. The Wildcats have won 10 or more games in Bramlage in four straight seasons.
Wildcats’ Defense Forges Identity
• K-State has continued to be a force on the defensive end during head coach Jeff Mittie’s five seasons on the bench.
• In the first two games of the 2018-19 season, the Wildcats lead the Big 12 and are 12th in the nation in scoring defense with 44.0 points per game allowed. The Wildcats are fourth in the Big 12 and 33rd in the nation in field goal percentage at .304 allowed.
• For the first time in the Mittie era and the first time since the 2011-12 season, Kansas State has held its first two opponents of a season to 49 points or less. The Wildcats held Omaha to 46 points, then kept North Texas to 42 points.
• The 42 points allowed to North Texas were the fewest surrendered by K-State since allowing 42 to Princeton on Dec. 18, 2016.
• During the last 17 seasons, K-State is 108-3 (.973) when holding an opponent to 49 points or less.
K-State Cleaning the Glass; Results in Shiny Wins
• Since the 2001-02 season, Kansas State owns a record of 212-27 (.887) when holding the edge on the glass. K-State had won 31 straight games when it won the battle of the boards, as the streak was snapped at Oklahoma on Jan. 4, 2017.
• K-State registered a +6.0 rebounding advantage against Omaha in the season-opener (43-37). It was the second straight game K-State held the edge on the glass dating back to the final game of the 2017-18 season against UC Davis in the round of 16 of the 2018 WNIT.
Goth Approaching 1,000-point Mark for Career
• Senior guard Kayla Goth has built herself into a dynamic scoring threat for K-State over the last two seasons and is on the verge of becoming the 41st player in program history with 1,000 points in their career.
• To open the 2018-19 season, the 2019 Nancy Lieberman Award candidate leads the Wildcats with 12.5 points per game on a .500 field goal percentage.
• Against North Texas, Goth led all scorers with 21 points on 9-of-14 shooting with seven assists, four rebounds and three steals.
• Goth has 20 career games with at least 15 points and five assists including 19 last season. She has more games with 15 or more points and five or more assists (20) than every other K-State player since the start of the 2014-15 season (11).
Jones on the Boards
• Senior forward Kali Jones has started the 2018-19 season strong on the boards, as she is averaging 7.5 rebounds per game and ranks tied for 12th in the Big 12 in the category.
• Against North Texas, Jones set a new career-high with 11 rebounds. This was her second career double-figure rebound game, surpassing her 10 at Oklahoma on Jan. 31, 2018.
• Of her 15 total rebounds, seven (3.5 orpg) have come on the offensive end of the floor. Jones ranks tied for eighth in the Big 12 in offensive rebounding.
• Including her 11 games at UC Santa Barbara in 2015-16, Jones owns 60 offensive rebounds in her career which is 41.4 percent of her career total.
