A 72-year-old Smolan man is without his laptop computer after someone stole it from his home early Saturday morning.

The man reported that he was awakened by the noise of someone walking around in his house at approximately 3:30 a.m. Saturday, Saline County Sheriff Roger Soldan said Monday. A short while later, the man went downstairs to check and discovered his back door open and his laptop, valued at $300, missing, Soldan said.

Soldan said it is believed the thief got into the home through a window. There was no damage to the window, he added.
