A truck driver returned to his vehicle in a Salina parking lot on Friday to find the vehicle damaged and items missing.
Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester said Monday that the driver parked a 2018 International DS tractor-truck in the parking lot of Lowe’s, 3035 S. Ninth, between 4:30-8:30 p.m. Friday an walked to several businesses in the area. When the driver returned, he found that someone had broken into the truck, damaged the steering column, and stolen a headset and some smaller electronic items, Forrester said. Total loss was estimated at $1,100, he said.
The truck belongs to Rush Truck Leasing, Inc. of Salt Lake City, Utah, Forrester said.
