A 20-year-old Salina woman is out $1,000 after someone broke into her locked vehicle and stole the cash from her Coach wallet over the weekend.
According to Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester, sometime between 7 p.m. Saturday and 7 a.m. Sunday, someone broke into a 2007 Pontiac Torrent in the 300 block of West Republic and removed $1,000 in cash that the woman planned to use for Christmas shopping. The thief left the woman’s Coach wallet, he said.
Damage from the forced entry was estimated at $50, Forrester said.
