Tracy M. Heikes

Tracy M. Heikes, 91 died January 19, 2019 in Tyler, TX. She was born on February 6, 1927 in Butler, OK, the daughter of James and Tracy Belle Witten. Tracy was a realtor by profession and hosted the daily radio show, “It’s a Woman’s World,” on KHFH radio station in Sierra Vista, AZ. She was a longtime member of the First Assembly of God in Sierra Vista, active in the Sierra Vista Chamber of Commerce, former head of the Democratic Party in Cochise County, AZ and more recently, a member of the Republican Party.

Tracy was known for her artistic gifts in painting and jewelry design. She was active in the community to help people in need. Tracy used her platform as a radio show host to benefit the needy in Sierra Vista, including raising money by telethon to purchase Sierra Vista’s first ambulance. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother.

Tracy was preceded in death by her parents, James and Tracy Belle Witten; step-mother, Georgie Witten; granddaughter, Cindy Hughes; sisters, Alberta Franklin, Lillian Strealy, Esta Pickwell; brothers, Clifford and James Witten.

Son: James and wife Donna Heikes of Colorado Springs, CO
Daughter: Rebekah and husband Mark Schear of Flint, TX
6 Grandchildren, 12 Great-grandchildren and 3 Great-great-grandchildren
Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends

Funeral Services: Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Mizpah United Methodist Church in Clay County, KS

Burial: Athelstane Cemetery, Clay County, KS

Visitation: Saturday, January 26, from 11:30 AM until service time at the Mizpah United Methodist Church

Memorials in lieu of flowers: Samaritan’s Purse, a ministry of Franklin Graham c/o the funeral home
